Happy Friday!
We all know that January is "resolution month" and many people start with the "new year new me" motto. Being healthy and exercise more is whatever wants to start the new year by doing. Sometimes a gym buddy really helps, a significant other, a family member, or a close friend. The motivation really helps push you to get out there. Plus, the two of you might get a little competitive and work even harder! It's good to make an agreement to go a specific amount of times a week to stay motivated. I understand sometimes life gets in the way but make sure to get at least 2 days in a week. There's also at home exercises, parks, etc. one doesn't always have to go to the gym. I make sure to start my workout by stretching and ending it with a delicious protein shake! Stretching before and after exercising is very important so that you don't get any cramps or pull something! I usually do the basic stretches and the few that the instructor shows in the classes I attend.

In this post, I am wearing the last collection from VS PINK. I have been obsessing over their latest collection! Their collection fits so well! I especially love the funny tops they have ( which I show here). Who doesn't wanna show up to the gym with a top that says "Whatever I'm getting cheese fries" ? I'm actually not a fan of cheese fries, I just found the top hilarious! Whether you're into running, yoga, or outdoor activities, the VS collection will keep you motivated and comfortable. I usually end my workout with a protein shake to maintain lean muscle. Protein shakes can be a little gross at times, but you can always add low fat ice cream, bananas, soy milk, almonds, etc. Mine was a toffee flavored protein shake that was delicious! Make sure not to baby sit the shake and drink it all at one go!  HERE are a few easy protein shake recipes!
I hope this pushes you to get out there and work out! Even if you start off with a walk in the park. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

What do you wear to work out?

Jumping Puddles

 Shirt: Francesca's // Vest: Francesca's // Boots: Hunter Boots // Purse: Jumi & Co.
Necklace: EXPRESS (Similar!) // Umbrella:  Target  (Similar) Lipstick: Too Faced

So lately in New Jersey we've been having a lot rain and snow, a lot of people think its ok to slip into sweats, a hoodie, and uggs. But today, I bring to you a comfortable, casual rainy day outfit. Instead of wearing a rain coat, I decided to go with a fur vest, a trench coat would go perfect with this outfit as well. I added a plaid button down for a pop of print to the look. You can barely see it but this shirt actually had a polka dot contrast on the sleeves, collar, and lining which really caught my eye. Style over a pair of jeans for the perfect rainy day outfit. I really wanted to add something basic and not over dramatic to the look, so I went with this pearl necklace I got from EXPRESS a few years back. I love adding old pieces to my outfits, makes me feel like I don't always have to go shopping for new clothes and search for new trends, but instead it's right there in my closet.  I went with a purple bag that went perfectly with the plaid top and umbrella. To complete the look, I went with a liquid melted violet lipstick to go along with the look.

What kind of outfits do you wear in the rain?
We're about to get hit with a huge blizzard in NJ.
Stay safe and warm!

Are you ready for Valentine's Day? I know it's a bit early but here is one option for a cute Valentine's day outfit!
I wore this outfit a few days ago for a family celebration and it was just one of those days where I wanted to dress up and I thought this would also be perfect for Valentine's day. This dress caught my eye, it was so different and I just couldn't help myself when shopping for a dress. I really loved the color and I knew it was the perfect way to stand out. This "incendiary" midi dress fits perfectly with a stretch, spandex fit that hugs and flaunts every curve of your body. My favorite part has to be the ruffling hem, I love it! When I walk, it just bounces up and down with me. Its almost as if classic pin-up girl-meets-modern glamazon. I found this dress to be irresistible, sexy, yet sophisticated. This dress is actually strapless, but because I went to a more sophisticated look, I added a blazer to the outfit.
I decided to add some pattern to the look but adding a double dose of leopard, shoes and a clutch. I wanted to keep the rest of the look as simple as possible with basic jewlery.

Thank you so much for reading!

Denim // Denim

Watch: JCPenney  // Sunglasses: Emblem Eyewear
Earrings: J.crew // Bracelet: J.crew // Scarf: J.crew
I have been loving playing around with print and mixing and matching them as well. I was never really a big fan of wearing jeans, but that also changed since I started working so much and wearing dressy pants and button downs most of the day. But since one of my many resolutions this year is to change up my style and spice up the outfits I share with you all, I plan on doing just that! I want to move away from the basic pants and top, because any blogger can do that, so I want to start accessorizing more, adding more pieces, hats, scarves, as well as layering when necessary.

Lately I find myself gravitating more towards jeans and pairing them up with a printed top, shoes, purse, or scarf, similar to this outfit. The chambray and jean combination has been trending for some time now and I wanted to do something different yet stay casual. Leopard clutch, printed scarf is the perfect way to spice up this look! I wanted to focus on navy blue and brown as my main colors so I just started building off that. Pairing the clutch with the tan boots, and pairing the navy blue and white print scarf with the jeans and chambray top! It has been extremely cold in NJ so I had to throw on this "It couldn't be warmer than this" hat I got on sale from ZARA for $9.99 ! What a deal, huh? I went out for dinner with this outfit and the waitress was starring at it while taking my groups order, it was so funny because it's so long so I had shift my head so she can read the entire thing. hehe!

Shopping is my cardio

I have been consistent with the gym for a while now, I want to say since October and I have been seeing a lot of results! When I go to the gym I like to focus on everything, but not all in one day. I've learned that I have strong upper body strength, strong legs, and a weak core. Yet when I go to the gym, I work out a different part of my body each day. So one day I'll do arms and legs, another day I'll focus on abs, etc.

I love getting new workout gear, it makes me want to go to the gym and is a great motivation! I know I needed to get new gear due to the cold weather, so I went and got this half zipped sweater from Abercrombie and Fitch outlet. Unfortunately I couldn't find it on their website, but you can find alternatives at H&M, Victoria Secret Pink, Nike, etc. I think the most important piece when picking out workout gear is your bottoms! You need to have bottoms that cover up completely because you are bending down a lot and don't want to show anything. The ones that I am wearing fit perfect, they are dark enough so no one can see through them and are extremely comfortable to work out in. They are also warm enough to run outdoors. They don't ride up or slip down like several other leggings due to their tight waistband. And I absolutely love the tribal print detail on the side of the leggings.
Don't you just love this "Shopping is my cardio" top? I am obsessed over it! If any of you personally know me, you know I love shopping so when I saw this at Victoria Secret, I knew I had to have it! To wrap up this outfit, I went with these pink/ purple nike airmax shoes that I got about a year ago, they are the most comfortable sneakers I have ever worn. I believe it is necessary to wear a headband, to get your hair out of your face. Hats, sweatbands, etc work as a great alternative as well.

I don't usually put on makeup with I workout but sometimes I go after work, so I can't help it! A lot of people question why I workout, it's not to lose weight or anything but instead I want to gain muscle and tone up! As much as I love listening to music and get in the zone while at the gym, or running outdoor, I also love listening to the great outdoor and listening to my friends when I have a workout buddy! In addition to doing cardio, lifting weight, I also love taking the classes the gyms offer. A lot of times people don't know what to do when going to the gym, so several gyms offer classes such as Zumba, KickBoxing, Just abs, Bootcamp, and so on. I enjoy going to these classes even if I don't have a workout buddy, these are great because the trainers guide you through your workout. I will try to do more fitness posts as I become more consistent with my workouts.

Thank you for so much for stopping by!

Rugby

Blazer: (Similar) // Dress: (Similar) // Shoes: Traffic Shoes
Necklace: ETSY

So here is another red, black and white combo because I loveeeee.  I'm not sure why I've been shifting toward these colors a lot lately, I think its because these colors are trending.
I paired up this red blazer with a stripped dress for a little oomph to the dress, it looked great without the blazer, but I thought, why not add some extra color? The boots are seriously so comfortable and versatile. They have mini gold belts on the side of them, if I ever want to wear these without the gold, I would wear leg warmers and cover them up.
I'm glad I wore them to be able to climb these rocks! hahaa! I had a lot of fun doing this shoot overlooking the New York Skyline!

Thank you so much for supporting!

Denim + Blues

Top: The Limited // Jacket: The Limited // Jeans: Charlotte Russe
Shoes: (Similar !) // Purse: TJ MAXX

So during the weekend I took a break from running errands and went shopping and lunch in Edgewater. I am in love with that place! The view of the city is phenomenal, it's clear and at nice its more beautiful because the city lights are on.

I decided  to base my outfit off these jeans, they fit so well and I have been obsessing over Charlotte Russe jeans. I even went back to get two more pairs after noticing the way they fit! I liked the idea of pairing them with a blue, so the outfit kinda just came together. I wanted to play around with print, so I went with these leopard shoes. I then grabbed this leather jacket which blended with the top since it was blue as well. To break up this all this blue going on in this outfit, I went with a yellow purse since they contrast so well. I pulled this outfit together super last minute for a more relaxed and casual look for lunch.
